  • Course, medium, and fine textures

  • Male attributes: aggressive, bold, contrast

  • Feminine attributes: soft, refined, delicate, best appreciated up close

Size

  • Affects the overall scale of the space

  • Designers use objects of different sizes to create dramatic spaces.

  • For comfortable spaces, a variety of sizes work best.

Line

  • Plants with exaggerated branches and tree trunks

  • Creates eye movement

  • Frames a great view

  • Can be used in hardscapes  to imply movement, order and structure

  • Creates mystery

 

Form

  • Columnar

  • Pyramidal

  • Weeping

  • Oval

  • Vase

Color

  • The primary colors are Red, Yellow and Blue

  • Secondary colors are; Green, Orange and Violet
